After School and Physical Education: WinWin Games

Enliven and enrich Physical Education and out-of-school programs with WinWin! Games. Based largely on New Games, this book contains fun, interactive small and large group games for everyone from about third grade on up (some of the motor skills may prove too complex for primary grades). Questions at the end of each game offer opportunities for casual group discussions and further application. Many of them emphasize healthy and fun aspects of competition, without promoting aggressive, win-lose attitudes. Students will learn the value of working together, acknowledging different skills, strategic problem-solving, and more.

This related resource draws on additional activities from the original New Games Foundation. You'll find more to help children (and adults!) get acquainted, foster cooperation, and develop sensitivity and trust. The efficiently designed, user friendly CD-ROM demonstrates each game and makes it easy to select activities based on group size, activity level, or skills and concepts to emphasize.

This 30-minute video presents 12 cooperative games, geared mainly toward elementary school children. Students will have fun learning social skills, communication, and teamwork.
